General Motors and Isuzu have revealed plans to invest US$175m through their DMAX joint venture to build an all-new, diesel engine components plant in Brookville, Ohio. The new 251,000ft² facility will expand production of DMAX engine components.
The companiesâ latest investment will create more than 100 manufacturing jobs at the Brookville site. Preliminary work has already begun at the site. Construction of the new facility will be completed by the end of 2020.
âStrong demand for GMâs all-new family of Chevrolet and GMC heavy- and medium-duty pickups is driving us to find ways to build more Duramax diesel engines,â said Gerald Johnson, GMâs executive vice president of Global Manufacturing.
âThe Brookville investment will enable us to machine more engine blocks and heads and ultimately enable our DMAX engine plant to build more 6.6-liter diesel engines for our Flint truck assembly plant.â
