Hrvatski Telekom and Hubject enter charge point collaboration

Hrvatski Telekom d.d. (HT) and Hubject GmbH have announced a joint-collaboration that will see EV charge points rolled out across the Adriatic region. The partnership aims to make EV charging in Croatia more customer friendly. HT joins Hubject´s international charging network which includes more than 55,000 charge points to give EV drivers access to the digital cross-provider network in Croatia.

With its intercharge network, the Berlin based joint venture already connects more than 280 companies in 24 countries throughout Europe, Asia and Oceania. The partnership with HT enables customers from all emobility service providers in the intercharge network to easily and reliably use the HT charging stations in Croatia via smartphone or charging card. In doing so, country borders are becoming less and less relevant for EV drivers. The cooperation is testament to the region’s interest in electromobility and the significance of seamless charging solutions for national and international EV drivers. From July onwards, Hrvatski Telekom will enable all Hubject partners and their customers to benefit from the nationwide access to the largest network of EV chargers in the region. This decision points the way towards the development of the customer experience of EV drivers in the country and advances cross-border and cross-operator charging. By joining the intercharge network, HT is taking the next step by offering premium charging services to existing and new customers of Deutsche Telekom.

“We are happy to welcome Hrvatski Telekom as our first Croatian partner in the intercharge family. With the connection of the HT charging points our network grows to more than 55,000 charging points. It is great to know that all EV drivers with contracts from our emobility service provider can now easily drive from Germany, Italy, across Austria to the Croatian Adriatic coast.”, commented Thomas Daiber, CEO of Hubject.

“As the regional emobility market leader, it is our great privilege but also duty to introduce Hubject’s intercharge functionality into our network, primarily to enable EV roamers to enjoy their stay in Croatia during the forthcoming summer holidays, but also to create the foundation for our customers to take advantage of the already extensive network of EV chargers across western Europe”, added Dino Novosel, project leader of Hrvatski Telekom.

The HT charging stations can be activated with a multitude of charging apps and RFID cards from international energy suppliers, automotive manufacturers and mobility providers within the intercharge network.
