SEAT has unveiled powertrain specifications for its new flagship model, the Tarraco. Developed with performance, efficiency and reliability in mind, the SUV will launch with two diesel and two gasoline variants.

The two gasoline units – a four-cylinder 1.5-liter TSI unit and a four-cylinder 2-liter – will develop 150ps and 190ps respectively. The smaller unit is paired to a six-speed manual transmission, and the larger variant to a seven-speed DSG.

The 1.5-liter unit produces its power between 5,000rpm and 6,000rpm, while the engine’s 250Nm of torque is available from 1,500rpm to 3,500rpm. The output figures are achieved thanks to a bore of 74.5mm and a stroke of 85.9mm. Compression ratio is 10.5:1.

SEAT’s larger 2-liter TSI engine benefits from a bore of 82.5mm and a stroke of 92.8mm with a compression ratio of 11.65:1 and produces its maximum power output of 190ps between 4,200rpm and 6,000rpm. The engine’s 320Nm torque is delivered at between 1,500 and 4,100rpm.

The two diesel options are both 2-liter TDIs, with an output of either 150ps and 190ps. Bore and stroke are identical at 81mm and 95.5mm but the compression ratio differs: the 150ps unit uses a 16.2:1 ratio while the 190ps engine uses 15.5:1.
