UK OEM Lotus has begun high-speed testing of the first Evija prototypes. The all-electric vehicle will continue to undergo dynamic tests at Hethel, UK, and on other performance handling circuits.
With a target output of 2,000ps, the Evija will become the most powerful production series road car in the world. The EV has already been through kinematic and compliance testing and endured multiple dynamic load and suspension simulations.
Matt Windle, executive director for sports car engineering at Lotus, said: “From the mid-engined-inspired Lotus layout, to the aerodynamics and downforce, the driving position, vehicle stance and unbelievable performance, [Evija] is instantly recognizable as special with a unique character, yet it is unquestionably a Lotus.”
