Vauxhall has added an all-new Euro 6.2-compliant 1.5-liter Turbo D powertrain to its Grandland X range. In SE trim, the 130ps SUV will achieve CO2 emissions of 108g/km and a combined fuel economy of 4.1 l/km when paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
Designed to give a driving feel closer to that of a gasoline engine, the 130ps unit will replace the outgoing 1.6-liter 120ps motor. Vauxhall has promised its latest powertrain development will offer improved driving response, maintained even at higher speeds thanks to the new four-valve cylinder head.
The OEM will also offer the powertrain with a new 8-speed automatic transmission which features an improved torque converter to improve gear shift smoothness and reduce idling vibrations.
