Groupe PSA and Punch Powertrain have established a second joint venture, expanding their partnership for electrification.
Punch will manufacture and supply its DT2 dual clutch transmission for mild hybrid electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
The agreement, which is subject to regulatory approval, will see Punch supplying PSA’s global operations and aims to supply other vehicle manufacturers.
The joint venture is called Punch Powertrain PSA e-transmissions and will supply 48V units for mild hybrid electric vehicles.
Olivier Bourges, executive vice president, programs and strategy, Groupe PSA, said, “We have understood that the future is much more than reducing emissions. The challenge ahead of us is electrification at affordable cost, aligned with our central purpose.”
