Hyundai expands N-line range with 1-liter T-GDi engine

Hyundai has introduced an entry-level 1-liter T-GDi to its i30 N-line range. The 1-liter triple will be paired to a 6-speed manual transmission and is expected to generate peak power of 120ps.

Ashley Andrew, managing director, Hyundai Motor UK, said, “With the identity of the N Line range already established in the i30 range, the introduction of the 1.0 120 PS engine is the natural next step.

“This engine accounts for over 65% of petrol engine sales in the i30 range, and with a clear market demand for smaller-capacity engines combined with a sports focused trim, we have high expectations for this new N Line model.”

The 1-liter T-GDi is the lowest powered unit available to the i30N, however, the turbocharged unit will do 0-100km/h in just over 11 seconds and reach a top speed of 190km/h (118mph).
