Volvo UK has announced it has completed homologation of its complete model range under the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP). By September 1, 2018, every model on sale in the EU has to have gone through the test, posing problems for quite a number of manufacturers.
The WLTP cycle is still a laboratory test like the NEDC cycle it replaces, but it has been designed to better reflect real-world economy and emissions of cars. All Volvo models now meet Euro 6d-temp emission standards.
“Volvo welcomed the new WLTP testing methods when they were first announced, as greater transparency in areas such as fuel consumption and emissions helps customers make better informed buying decisions,” explained Jon Wakefield, Volvo Car UK’s managing director.
“We are pleased that we are the first to sell a complete range of cars that meets the new testing standards.”
