An official production license has been granted to Xpeng Motors for its factory in Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province.
Approval from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for the factory at Zhaoqing Xpeng Motors Intelligent Industrial Park will speed the introduction of its P7 electric sedan. The P7 is Xpeng’s second production model with deliveries scheduled for the second quarter of 2020.
The Zhaoqing plant has a planned area of 2,000,000m2 with vehicle production facilities covering 1 million sqm. The factory will have five workshops for manufacturing with one battery assembly line. Ultimately, the facility will be capable of manufacturing four different models.
