Sonceboz has launched its new Easy Plug actuator solution – a simple and robust transducer, which turns a brushless motor (BLDC) into a de-facto DC actuator.
With this new system, neither a microcontroller nor memory is needed with the Easy Plug driver, making it possible to connect compact, lightweight, and highly dynamic BLDC actuators to existing H- bridge ECU inverters. Sonceboz say EasyPlug allows OEMs to benefit from both BLDC motor structure advantages and the easy driving mode of the DC motor.
EasyPlug was designed in light of new regulations requiring an increased number of electric actuator solutions, and more dynamic behavior to facilitate transients, as well as smaller sized solutions to respond to increased space constraints, and reducing vehicle weight.
Existing electrified valve applications, such as EGR, WG, VGT and throttle body, are currently driven mainly by DC brushed motors. However, the Sonceboz BLDC is a mature technical solution, bringing excellent dynamic behavior and compactness to electrically actuated applications.
