Gordon Murray’s T.50 Cosworth engine bench tested to 12,100rpm

Following the T.50’s successful track test back in March, enthusiasts of the Gordon Murray Automotive (GMA) hypercar were left hanging from a metaphorical cliff after the XP2 Prototype was driven with a rev limiter masking the true, untapped potential of the bespoke V12 from renowned engine builder Cosworth.

Well, imagine no more. GMA has now released a video showing bench test procedures carried out on the mighty V12 around a simulated lap of the Le Mans circuit. Capable of an ear-shattering 12,100rpm and offering up a piercing scream reminiscent of the golden era of 90s/00s F1 engines, the T.50 and its powertrain are sure to cause a stir (and not a few smiles) in the hypercar sector.
