Based on the 2018 Traverse, Chevrolet has unveiled the Traverse RS. Fitted with a Ecotec 2.0-liter turbo, the RS will be the first Traverse to offer turbocharged performance.
Following the Equinox RS in 2017, the new mid-size SUV is the second model to feature the Rally Sport moniker. A direct-injected Ecotec 2.0L turbo engine generates up to 260ps and 295 lb-ft of torque. To ensure power on demand, 90% of the peak torque is available at only 2,100 rpm.
While the RS name-badge suggests a bigger powerplant under the hood, Chevrolet’s newest SUV’s two fewer cylinders means PS is down by 53 but torque is up 29 lb-ft. The RS is also offered only in front-wheel drive format.
The engine shares the 9-speed automatic that comes with the V6, this contributes to EPA-estimated fuel economy of 14.1 l/km in city driving and 10.8 l/km on the highway.

“By offering customers more choice with higher-end entries like the RS, which has a more street-inspired look, and top-of-the-line High Country, Chevrolet now offers a comfortable and connected Traverse for every lifestyle.”
