Your Role & Resposibilities
To work in the Test Engineering team within Build and Test. Responsible for the data acquisition systems and associated software within the propulsion, vehicle and battery test facilities. Part of the B&T team helping to develop the future capability of the department. Typical duties outlined below: –
Development of all data acquisition systems, including hardware/software and the test-cell computer network
Development of data and control systems for the new facilities such as Battery and e-machine testing
Support planning and delivery of software upgrade programmes
Work closely with the instrumentation team in the resolution of issues to minimise downtime
To monitor the effectiveness of current systems and deliver efficiency improvements
Part of the B&T team transforming the facility for e-mobility testing, developing proposals for capital expenditure
Your Skills and Experience
Previous experience of complex data acquisition systems, ideally within an automotive development environment, using dynamometer test beds and test rigs
Knowledge of I/O network protocols as CANbus, MODBus etc
Familiarity with software such as AVL PUMA, Horbia STARS, NI LabView, INCA an advantage
Good understanding of instrumentation techniques
Good technical competence in equipment calibration
Good problem-solving skills are essential
High +300VDC electrical experience an advantage
The ability to approach new technical challenges with an open mind
