The TFSI e quattro is equipped with the brand’s 3-liter TFSI engine and a permanently excited synchronous electric motor. The turbocharged V6 alone delivers an output of 340ps and 450Nm of torque.

The permanently excited synchronous motor (PSM) – which is integrated into the OEM’s eight-speed Tiptronic transmission – is developed for high power density delivering a peak output of 94kW and 350Nm of torque, is integrated in the housing of the eight-speed Tiptronic.

Power for the electric motor is supplied by a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery that is positioned under the luggage compartment floor and provides an energy capacity of 17.3kWh at a voltage of 308V. Its 168 prismatic cells are divided into 14 modules that lie on top of each other on two levels.

Audi’s battery cooling system, which also covers the charger, forms a separate low-temperature circuit. If necessary, it can be connected to the coolant circuit for the air conditioning system or the second low-temperature circuit, which cools the electric motor and power electronics.

When both power units work together in boost mode, the PHEV will accelerate from 0km/h to 100km/h in 5.7 seconds and reach a limited top speed of 240 km/h. Up to speeds of 135 km/h the e-motor can generate drive alone.

In electric operation, the latest Q7 variant will achieve range of up to 43km in accordance with the WLTP procedure.
